This project is fun and very easy! It is also a great project to do with your kids or friends. Make these for your own tree and as gifts! You will need to dry some lemons first. Just place about 10 or 20 lemons somewhere in a dark corner for 1 or 2 months. They will just shrivel and darken a little bit as they slowly dry. Check up on them every now and then.

Materials:

10-20 dried lemons.
Bits and pieces of ribbon, beads, jewelry, tassels, and anything else that you would like to use to embellish your lemon.
Hot glue gun for gluing your embellishments.
Pins or tacks for applying beads and sequins into your lemons.
Scissors for cutting ribbon bits.
Glitter paints and glitter glue for decorating your lemon.

Basic Techniques:

Step 1:
Make a loop with a small piece of ribbon and attach a pin or tack through the two ends of the bottom of the loop. Now stick this tack into the very top of the lemon and use a touch of glue, so your ornament will last for years to come. This is how you will hang your lemon onto the tree.

Step 2:
At this point you can decorate your lemon. You can paint it with glitter paint and let it dry before you start adding embellishments. If you don't want to paint it then just start decorating it. Let loose and have fun. Each lemon can look different or you can make sets of 4 or 6 which look similar or have a similar color theme. Attach a small tassel or a short string of beads at the very bottom of your lemon. The tassel is at the South Pole and the loop is at the North Pole of your lemon. You can glue a piece of ribbon around the equator of your lemon.

Well, that is all there is to it. Super easy and super fun!
