Superkongresua Egia Cultural Centre, 25th, 26th and 27th of January 2001 Superkongresua wants to give the artists themselves the chance to publicise modern creative art in the Basque Country. In the form of a meeting/congress, 30 artists in 3 days will be introducing their work to the public by giving small talks with screenings of slides, videos, on-line presentations and debates. The idea of organising a super-congress is based around structuring communication channels and meeting points that make it possible for the younger generation of artists to get closer to the local context and its production and distribution conditions. Superkongresua will give us an idea of the present and immediate future of modern art production. A variety of stances will be coming together here and we will be able to see the complexity and plurality of modern society through the art that is being produced nowadays. It has been organised as a festival/congress so that it will have more contact with the public and be a reference point. Superkongresua is a forum for debate about the communication, exchange, placement and other aspects of modern creative activity.
