Orrazkerak, Haircuts, Friseur Presentation at Marcial Muñoz Hairdresser's
Ainara García goes back to the explosion of Punk in what was known
as the Radical Basque Rock phenomenon at the beginning of the eighties.
This was when the aesthetic approach of revolutionary youth began to acquire
a style of its own that has constantly evolved and been readapted right
up to the present day. Ainara García's work revolves around the relations between fashion,
styles and identity-based subcultures, and constantly shifts from fashion
to art and vice-versa. Her best-known work is as a designer of t-shirts,
skirts and belts with the names of villages in the Basque provinces printed
in silk screen ink. She chose to present this fanzine in San Sebastián at the Marcial
Muñoz hairdressing salon who improvised a haircut inspired by the
pictures in the fanzine.
